General Information Certificates and General Information

How accurate is a precision balance scale?

Analytical balances are weighing scales with extreme high accuracy, designed for weighing very small quantities in a sub-milligram range.

Before ordering, consider what the balance will be used for, the materials being used and the the quantity being weighed. The ATX Series has graduations to 0.001g (0.1mg).

How can weight readings be recorded?

As standard, every Shimadzu balance from Marsden comes with WindowsDirect software. This software allows you to connect the balance to your PC, and when Print is pressed the weight information is sent to an open document, such as an Excel file.

All that’s needed to connect the balance to your PC is an I/O to RS-232 cable (not included).

Why should I choose the ATX Series?

The ATX Series features a wind chamber to protect the surface of the scale, ensuring weight readings are precise and unaffected by the environment.

A Piece Counting function means batch weighing is easy; the scale can count multiple identical items quickly without them needing to be counted by hand. Upto five different sample weights can be easily entered, stored and recalled for later use. The comparator function allows the user to compare samples to target values or pass/fail criteria.

Menu settings on the scale can be protected by a password. This can be set by the user. Then, each time the button is pressed for the operation menu, the password will have to be entered.
