We donated 12 V-22 Vet Scales to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home

Last year, Marsden donated two weighing scales to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. The donation of the V-150s, which are now being used to weigh new arrivals at the shelter, led to Marsden visiting Battersea at the end of last year.

It was when we visited Battersea that we realised how important veterinary scales are for them on a day to day basis.

More and more obese pets are arriving at Battersea, which means stricter diets, more exercise - and regular weigh-ins to track weightloss progress.

Even pets with a healthier weight are monitored regularly to ensure they are maintaining the right size for their age and breed.

So - last month, we donated 12 V-22 Veterinary Scales that should help with cat and dog weigh-ins. Especially when Battersea move to their new Animal Hospital later this year and capacity increases!

Regarding pet obesity, Battersea’s Director of Veterinary Services, Shaun Opperman, told us: “People often don’t realise they are overfeeding their cats. Factors include not weighing their food out, not giving them the opportunity to exercise, and boredom eating.

“We make sure every cat at Battersea is weighed regularly to ensure they maintain a healthy size - which will help them live a longer, happier life.”

Our MD, Richard Black, added: “After donating two of our larger V-150 Veterinary Scales we became aware that Battersea were in need of smaller scales for cats and smaller dog breeds. We donated 12 scales to help with weight monitoring. We’re delighted to see they’re already in regular use!”
